Still waiting...Longest two weeks ever!

We are in the home stretch, and we have been keeping busy. We are just about as ready as we'll ever be, and have been spending a lot of quality time with our "baby" Riley the dog. As you can see, we practice our parent duties with him...we think he likes it.

.
This last one was taken after our friends' wedding. All of the Dads with their babies and babies to-be!

Hopefully this is the last pregnant picture I publish. Next post will include pics of our baby boy!!!

Ready and Waiting!

We are in the home stretch. I can't wait to NOT be pregnant at this point. The swollen face, feet and fingers are making me uncomfortable. Not to mention the heartburn...whew! I know it will be all worthwhile when we finally meet our little guy! Just wanted to post a few pics from the past few weeks. Our moms and friends gave us an awesome shower the weekend of Brett's birthday. It was great to see everyone, and we got so many great things for Beckett!

Time is ticking down...just 6 weeks to go!

We have been pretty busy the past couple of months. Time is flying by! Before we know it, there will be a new man of the house...and I say that because I know HE will be the one in charge. Mommy and Daddy will simply be residents to bow to each and every whim of our new little punkin! We have ordered and assembled furniture, Mommy stopped working (yeah!), the 'Grandmas' came up to paint for a weekend, we registered for any and everything a little baby boy could possibly need, we played the "name game" a lot, and finally decided on one. Actually Mommmy and Daddy each filled out a bracket for the NCAA March Madness tourney. The one with the best bracket and most points would get to choose between our final two contenders. As it turns out, Mommy is a pretty good guesser!! I think Daddy was pretty disappointed to lose to a girl, but in all honesty, I picked based on location, color of uniforms and cutest mascot. Stay tuned to see what the final name is...I will post soon.

This picture was taken right before we went out for St. Patrick's Day, so it's a bit old. Mommy is sporting quite a tummy now with a chubby face to match...ugh. I also discovered all kinds of fun 'extras' that happen in trimester 3. Lots of heartburn, stretch marks and insomnia. I hate to whine, but I cannot wait to our guy to arrive just so I can get back to feeling 'normal' again. Last weekend was our baby shower. Once I upload the pictures, I will be sure to post. Oh, have I mentioned how excited we are??!?!

Past the HALFWAY Point...oh BOY!

Well, baby Spalding will be here in about 18 weeks. YIKES! that sounds like a long time, but we have a lot to do to get ready for this guy! I have recently started registering (with a lot of help from my friend, Jenni!) for all essential stuff. There is SO much to choose from. It's overwhelming. You have to check the ratings and reviews for each and every item. Brett and I get to see our guy on Friday. We have an ultrasound to check measurements, and everything else the docs check for. Last time we had a good look at him, he resembled a jelly bean! Hope to post ultrasound pics next week...stay tuned!

Past the HALFWAY Point

Pregnancy has always seemed like a cake walk. You eat what you want, you wear elastic pants and you end up with a bouncing baby after the 9 months. Wrong. There is WAY more to it. Up until about 17-18 weeks, I felt hungover all the time. So not fun. I am starting my 22 week, and I am back to feeling like "me" again. It is crazy how hormones and nature takes over your body. Brett and I have an ultrasound this coming Friday. It will be cool to see our little guy again. I am sure he looks SO much more like a baby than the first time we saw him on screen...at that point, he looked like a jelly bean. Excited for our ultrasound!

Happy Honeymoon...Ohh Baby!

Well, as many of you have heard...we are expecting a little one! After our beautiful wedding in May, we spent a couple months recouping then booked an amazing honeymoon to Playa Car Mexico. We took our friends Amber and Mike's suggestion and went to the place they stayed for their honeymoon (RIGHT after our wedding...we are anniversary buddies!) -- SO we booked a solid week at the Royal Hideaway! What a gorgeous resort. All inclusive (of course!), private pools, FABULOUS gourmet food and the most beautiful beach we have ever seen. Needless to say we had a great time. We decided on the trip we would stop being so "careful" and see what happens...well, we didn't get pregnant on our honeymoon, but we did the next month. I guess God gave us that vacation to literally party and booze it up right before he created our little pumpkin! The weekend of Labor Day, we stayed home and hung out with our friends, Mallory, Kolin (and Louie the dog), did laundry, ordered pizza, went to the park, hung out at a couople bars and watched a couple Cardinals games. Oh. And, created a baby. All in all, not a bad weekend!

inspired today

Well, what better time to embark on the blogging world! No better time than the present. My old roommate from college has one to document her little girl, and I think it's a wonderful idea to catch up and keep up! Since I'm new to this whole thing, I'll keep it pretty simple... check back later!
